Summertime 06:06
It’s summer time Mystery and moonlight It’s a summer night All sultry and smoky eyed And you, you’re testing out your new moves You’re getting ready for your debut And will you kiss her on the first date And will you rock the party And will you love yourself if it all goes to waste? Or will you lose your mind? Do you remember When we kissed in the moonlight Skinny-dipped in the soft night-light? Oh, do you remember, do you remember How much time we had when we were young Or how we were gonna Take this world by storm? And how we drove all night And how we kissed goodbye And how we lost our minds? And we say that we want to be free And we know this world’s not what it seems So we carry ourselves to sea And we float away And we dream about what we’re meant to be It’s a starry night Staring at the galaxies So many stars So many possibilities And we are young, we are young And ready for the world Misshapen and mistaken For warriors And we will drive all night And we will drive until we find the sunlight And we will drive until we lose our minds And we say that we want to be free And we know this world’s not what it seems So we carry ourselves to sea And we float away And we dream about what we’re meant to be And we say that we want to be free And we know that we’re more than we seem So we journey towards the unseen And we float away And we become what we’re meant to be It’s summer time And we’re feeling alright It’s a summer night And we’re ready for the sunlight…

So Much Fun 03:56
So Much Fun You and me We’re following the stars We play hide and seek Until we finally meet We walk past each other A hundred times We take the same trains We walk separate paths Until we finally meet An you, you’ll love me You’ll marry me, And you, you… You, you’re good at stuff And happy And handsome too And me, well I’m ready, to love you Oh, and we’ll have so much fun Sitting on our porch in our old age But now, now…. It’s time, to play Play, Play, Play… You and me We’re happy lovin’ and stuffin our home With family Oh we’re cooking up our love We’re baking up our love We’re eating up our love We’re wrapping up our love We’re giving out our love And it’s so much fun Dancin’ with you And we’re laughing All the way home

The Woman 05:17
You walk into the room You look me up and down Trying to discern Who I am, and what I’m all about But, you can’t figure me out Oh you’ve met your match, Mr. Smarty-pants I am the Woman I am the Woman So you need something from me To figure out your grand mystery But you’ll have to try a little harder If you attempt to out wit me I’ll make sure I secure my safety Oh you thought this would be so easy You thought this be so easy But you, you never met one like me You never lost so easily So here we go, round and round we go ‘til you get tired oh, but you don’t get tired, do you? Oops, did I fake you out? You though I had expired, only to reappear (How did I do it?) Hey Mister, I’ve got plenty of tricks up my sleeve How much longer do you want to play this game with me? Oh you thought this would be so easy You thought this be so easy But you, you never met one like me You never lost so easily It was easy to make you give me What I needed I just had to tell you I could make you beg, for mercy But can’t you see Though I’m using you You’re not my enemy No, you’re just like me But you’ll never know my secret heart You’ll never know the very best part Oh, wait! Oh know! You found the key To unlock and unravel me Oh how could you tell? I hid it so well No one’s ever read my heart Oh well, I lost so easily But you’ll always remember me I am The Woman

Come and Go 03:40
You can Come and you can go I’m not fussed I’m in the flow I’ve got enough of what I need So please, live your life and let’s be free I’m full up, I’m happy I’m everything I want to be I’m geared up, I’m ready I’m blazing trails in front of me But I know things will Come and go But I’m not afraid I’m in the flow I’ve got no need to hold on So please, live your life and let’s be free Oh, let’s be free Come and Go Come and go Come and go I’m just fine, sitting here in the sunshine And I’m sipping on the wine Of this illuminating life time And I’m just fine And everything arrives just in time And I’m praying to that internal shrine Come and go You can come and you can go This love I have is in the flow I’m not afraid of anything ‘Cause I’d rather be free

Sing Anyway 06:13
You said you’re not fine today But you’ll meet anyway You said, it’s not a good day, not a good day I’m not okay in my head I said let’s meet anyway We’ll take a walk in the park And draw cartoons in the dirt And play a game I think you just need to play a game Did you notice the birds? They don’t’ have words, But they sing anyway Did you notice the birds, they sing. Did you notice it rains when we need it? Did you notice the sun comes out everyday? And we keep playing the game We keep playing the Game We keep playing the game What if I don’t know what I’m doing? What if you laugh? And walk away And what if I can’t delay this pain and growth That’s coming? Will you still love me anyway? Will you still love me anyway? Will you still love me anyway? Sometimes you don’t notice Your own feet on the ground Sometimes you don’t notice the smile on that Beautiful face of yours What if I crash and burn? What if I don’t notice it’s no longer my turn? Can we play this game again? What if I stop saying what if, and be here now? What if I stop passing the blame and insisting on staying the same? Can we play this game again? Did you notice, we keep being born everyday? While others die and fade away Did you notice this whole thing Has its way? So I think I’ll sing anyway I’ll think I’ll sing anyway Did you notice, you’re here Today?

We burn candles across the sky And we never die We are dust and soul Spirit and bone I catch you in the middle of a falling tune We almost lost our way Climbing to the moon And we’re strung out On wonder and so it begins the ferris wheel of fortune spins it’s a stacked deck of aces in the hole times twenty-one and I can’t control what’s beyond the veil and we are beyond the pale and so we play here hiding and seeking desirous of everything all at once Gently, wildly, falling into ecstasy We’re wonder junkies Can’t get enough Of that good stuff I’ll never call your bluff As we set sail In Awe…. Time runs down the rabbit hole Leaving all but none untold All eyes are on the world We already know Say it ain’t so I’ll be the first to go Searching into the unknown Gently, wildly, falling into ecstasy We’re wonder junkies Can’t get enough Of that good stuff I’ll never call your bluff As we set sail In Awe…. Spinning into ecstasy Just to be…

It’s a Strawberry Moon A sad century tune Gazing down at me, timelessly Leaning on my soul Beaming on my soul Reading into my soul I gaze up, like so many eyes before me Like, so many wise before me Perhaps as you do, Oceans away, This moon-phase is over But you still think of me you say You were so new to me With your unabashed honesty And your kindness So delightfully real Bravely telling me how you feel And I know I can go on But I still see you looking at me Our ways parted Just as sure as the sea Life telling me how it’s gonna be But tonight is like so many nights When I’m all alone But tonight I know your out there Sharing this mystic moment, Behold, the magic and the memory Of the moonlight of the century And I know that it is all Coming up for me It’s a Strawberry moon this moon phase is over but you still think of me you say you you you you say you you you you say you you you you say and it’s all washing away all washing away I’m just walking away I’m just walking away

about

Wonder Junkies is Jennifer's second EP album, and first release in a number of years. This album demonstrates a mix of genres and styles, straying a little bit from her folk/pop style of previous recordings and venturing into some funk and jazz influenced compositions.

Thanks and Acknowledgements:

As ever, I'm profoundly grateful to my band, the immensely talented musicians that I have the privilege of playing music with both live and in the recordings.

Many, many thanks to Zach Bardon, my first ever band mate, brilliant musician, and good friend, for all his hard work making this set of recordings happen, and without whose skilled and creative contributions, many of my songs would not be the same.

Thank you to Jack Ahn, for having provided, for some time, an amazing music hub in our community and taking the time to record our live sets.
